Dabo Swinney teases surprise returnees on Clemson's roster for 2023 season
Clemson’s 2023 roster could have multiple surprise returnees.
That’s according to comments made by coach Dabo Swinney at his signing day press conference on Wednesday.
“We’ve got some guys coming back that we didn’t know were coming back,” Swinney said. “I promise you they will be the best recruits in this class.”

Swinney is presumably referring to potential NFL Draft picks who are choosing to return to Clemson.
Myles Murphy and Trenton Simpson have already announced their plans to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. However, players like Bryan Bresee, KJ Henry, Jordan McFadden, Tyler Davis, Sheridan Jones and Xavier Thomas have yet to declare their plans for this upcoming season.
Bresee seems likely to declare for the draft in the coming weeks, as he’s currently projected as a first-round pick. However, Clemson has several other players who could improve their draft stock with a another season of college football.
Clemson will play Tennessee in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30.
