DJ Uiagalelei officially entered the transfer portal on Monday, ending a three-year career at Clemson.

Uiagalelei was the Tigers’ starter over the past two seasons, which both resulted in 10+ win campaigns for Clemson. However, he was replaced during Clemson’s ACC Championship Game win over North Carolina this weekend.

In his announcement, Uiagalelei thanked his teammates and staff within the program for his experience at Clemson:

“The relationships I have built with everyone in the building will last a lifetime and I am forever thankful for that,” Uiagalelei wrote. “Lastly, I want to thank all my teammates. The brotherhood we have at Clemson is something special. The relationships I have built with guys on the team run much deeper than football.”

Cade Klubnik will lead Clemson’s offense during the Orange Bowl and is widely expected to be the team’s starting quarterback next season. He was excellent in relief of Uiagalelei during the ACC Championship Game this weekend.

Uiagalelei is set to graduate from Clemson later this month. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
