ESPN has updated its bowl projections for Clemson following Week 8.

ESPN college football writers Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach projected another College Football Playoff appearance for Clemson. Bonagura placed Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl semifinal against Ohio State. Schlabach projected a Peach Bowl appearance vs. Georgia.

If Schlabach is right, it would be the first meeting between Clemson and Georgia in the Playoff. In the 2021 season opener, Georgia defeated Clemson 10-3. On the other hand, this would be Clemson’s fourth Playoff meeting against Ohio State. Clemson and Ohio State last met in the 2020 Sugar Bowl.

Clemson remained undefeated with a 27-21 win over Syracuse on Saturday. With an 8-0 record, Clemson is on track to qualify for this season’s Playoff. After trailing at halftime, Clemson needed a second half comeback to defeat Syracuse at home.

Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei was benched in the second half after a rough start. He finished his outing with 138 passing yards and two interceptions. He was replaced by freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik, which turned out to be a good decision by the coaching staff.

Clemson will return to play in Week 10 against Notre Dame.
