Clemson is a big favorite this weekend in its top 15 matchup against Syracuse.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Clemson has a 83.5% chance of taking down the Orange on Saturday in Death Valley.

Clemson has won 8 of the 9 meetings in this series since Syracuse joined the ACC, including 4 in a row. However, the Orange have had a knack for playing closer-than-expected games against the Tigers.

Of the last 5 games in this series, 3 of them have been decided by 4 points or less. That includes Syracuse’s 27-24 victory in 2017.

This will be Syracuse’s first ACC road game of the season. The Orange are 3-0 in ACC play, but each of those wins have come at home. By contrast, Clemson has already played — and won — each of its 4 ACC away games for this season.

With a win, Clemson would take over sole possession of first place in the Atlantic division. The Tigers aren’t likely to face a ranked opponent again until the ACC Championship Game, should they qualify.

Kickoff is at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
