Fans, media react to Cade Klubnik's first half against Tennessee in Orange Bowl
Fans and media alike have had strong takes on the 1st half of Cade Klubnik’s 1st start.
At halftime, the Tigers are trailing the Tennessee Volunteers 14-3. Klubnik is 16-of-29 for 201 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs. Klubnik has struggled to work under pressure and has had a few freshman moments.
The Tigers had a couple of promising drives that set up makeable FG opportunities. However, Clemson K BT Potter is just 1-of-4 on FG tries thus far.
Here are some of the best reactions to Clemson’s first half on offense:
Klubnik has shown some freshman mistakes tonight but y’all know DJ woulda thrown 3 picks already

coming into this Orange Bowl, heard a lot of buzz around Cade Klubnik's name.
perhaps, we should've been paying a little more attention to Joe Milton instead.

PI is Clemson’s only offense and Tennessee’s only defense, I’m a genius https://t.co/P2B2dwk8be

Y’all asking why Cade Klubnik hasn’t played all year, I’m asking why Cole Turner hasn’t played all year.

Job #1 in the offseason for Cade Klubnik: Figure out and improve on how to read a blitz

Tennessee has done a tremendous job making Cade Klubnik uncomfortable. I think I can count the number of clean pockets he's thrown from on one hand.

Clemson's offense just gets enough PI calls to move down the field to then miss field goals. #TENNvsCLEM

I don’t know why they keep running Cade Klubnik on these designed QB runs.
Kid doesn’t know how to slide yet and is getting murdered every time he runs.

The pressure on Cade Klubnik has given Klubnik happy feet even when he gets decent protection.

Very hard to understand how Dabo could’ve kept Cade Klubnik on the bench for entire second half of the season.
Clemson should also have more than 0 points right now…which is also partially on Dabo.

Brandon Streeter is making zero effort to run the ball. I just don’t understand. Will Shipley has 4 touches. Cade Klubnik is getting no help.

Cade Klubnik is a blue-chip talent, but he's going through some growing pains tonight. This game is sped up and Klubnick is a bit rattled… #Clemson

Some people are just happy that Klubnik has not turned the ball over, while others are disappointed with the lack of points.
Several people have pointed out that the offense does not look much better than it did when DJ Uiagalelei was at QB.
An argument can be made that Klubnik is performing admirably given the circumstances. Making your 1st start in a bowl game has to be a tough task.
With the 3rd quarter underway, we will see if Klubnik can get his Tigers back in this game.
