Former Clemson commit was reportedly ‘miserable’ on Florida State visit

Former Clemson commit Zechariah Owens visited Florida State this weekend for the Noles’ game vs. the Tigers, and things reportedly did not go very well.

Owens decommitted from Clemson

less than a week ago. The Georgia native was one of Clemson’s top commitments in the class of 2023 prior to that decision.

A few days later, he took a visit to Tallahassee. But according to Rivals’ Paul Strelow, Owens was “miserable” on the visit and was even cheering for the Tigers while sitting in FSU’s recruiting section.

The report also says that Owens has reached back out to Clemson in an effort to “get back in the fold.”

However, Clemson had already begun recruiting other prospects in the days after Owens’ decommitment. It remains unclear whether or not the Tigers will bring Owens back into their class.

Clemson has 19 commitments in the 2023 class so far this cycle. The group ranks No. 9 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings
