Bentley, a 4th-year junior, was with Clemson since 2019. He entered the transfer portal after Clemson’s ACC Championship Game in December. In 2022, Bentley came off the bench as a backup linebacker in all 13 games. He finished his final season at Clemson with 20 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 sack.
In 4 seasons at Clemson, Bentley played in 40 games and made 2 starts. His 2 starts came in the 2021 season. In 2021, Bentley had his best season at Clemson with 30 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. Overall, he recorded 68 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.
Coming out of high school, Bentley was one of the top recruits from Alabama. He chose Clemson over Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss. When Bentley plays for Colorado, he will hope to have a starting role on the defense as a linebacker.
Clemson will face Tennessee in the Orange Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. ET.
