EJ Manuel definitely didn’t have the Saturday he hoped for. The ACC Network analyst already had to witness his alma mater Florida State fall to Clemson for the seventh year in a row.

To make matters even more embarrassing though, the former Seminoles quarterback lost a bet with his colleague Eric Mac Lain, an ex-Clemson captain.

The punishment?

To don a t-shirt emblazoned with the rivalry’s logo on national television. Not just any regular Clemson t-shirt either.

For the postgame coverage, Manuel transformed into a “Clemson man”.

Florida State hasn’t defeated Clemson since a 23-17 overtime victory in Tallahassee in 2014. Despite the drought, Florida State still leads the all-time series 20-15.

Manuel played at Florida State from 2009-2012. He registered a 25-6 record as a starter.

During his college career, Manuel completed 600 of his 897 passes for 7,736 yards, 47 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. Manuel also rushed for 827 yards and 11 touchdowns in his Florida State career. Manuel’s senior season passing yards total (3,392) ranked second in program history at the time.

Florida State trailed by 20 entering the fourth quarter but rallied with two touchdowns to cut the deficit to six with 2:17 before falling short. Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis threw those fourth quarter touchdowns to Ja’Khi Douglas and Kentron Poitier.

Florida State has a bye this week and then will host Georgia Tech on Oct. 29. Florida State leads the all-time series 14-11-1. Georgia Tech has taken the last two contests in the series.
