FOX’s Joel Klatt is not impressed with Clemson so far this season.

On Sunday night, Klatt said he doesn’t believe this Clemson team would finish better than third in the SEC East or Big Ten East.

Clemson has taken a lot of criticism in the last few days despite picking up a win over No. 14 Syracuse last weekend. The Tigers now have three ranked victories on the season.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Clemson’s strength of schedule to this point has been more difficult than Ohio State’s, Georgia’s and Michigan’s SOS. The Tigers rank No. 2 nationally (behind only Tennessee) in FPI’s strength of record.

Clemson is 8-0 and is amongst the favorites to reach the College Football Playoff. The Tigers may still have two ranked opponents left on their schedule: South Carolina on Nov. 26 and North Carolina in a potential ACC Championship Game matchup.

If Clemson goes 13-0, it will almost certainly reach a CFP semifinal. Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State and Michigan are currently ranked above the Tigers in the AP Poll. However, at least two of those teams are guaranteed to pick up a loss in November.

Clemson is off in Week 9 but will face Notre Dame on the road in Week 10.
