Hunter Tyson earns invite to NBA Combine after strong G League Elite Camp showing

Hunter Tyson is 1 of 8 players who have been called up from the G League Elite Camp to the NBA Draft Combine this week, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.

The former Clemson Tiger forward scored 22 points in 41 minutes across 2 games at the G League Elite Camp over the weekend. He shot 4-of-7 from the field and added 2 steals and 1 block in his final showing. He also tied for the top mark in the shooting drill, connecting on 18 of his 25 triples from the NBA line.

The 6-foot-7 wing is hoping to break into the 2023 NBA Draft. He’s not currently on Sam Vecenie’s 100-prospect big board for The Athletic but an invite to the Combine shows his stock is trending up. A chance t

o work out in front of scouts and share the court with some of the best of the best could go a long way.

Tyson spent 5 seasons with the Tigers, appearing in 140 games and starting in 58 of his final 59 outings. Last season, he was an All-ACC selection after averaging 15.3 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting 48% from the field and 41% from the 3-point line.

The NBA Draft Combine runs May 15-21 in Chicago. This year’s draft takes place on June 22.
