Clemson used a little bit of trickery to take its first lead of the game vs. UConn on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 7-0 after the Huskies returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, the Tigers got a bit of special teams revenge on a fake field goal attempt.
Clemson lined up for a 23-yard field goal attempt, but holder Will Swinney took the snap and ran untouched into the end zone for the score.
Here’s the play:
Swinney, of course, is t
he son of Clemson coach Dabo Swinney. This was his second career touchdown. He caught a touchdown back in 2018 in Clemson’s win over Louisville.
Clemson is looking to move to 7-3 on the year with the win. The Tigers are still alive in the ACC Atlantic and will host Wake Forest next week in their conference finale.
