Girard made the decision to transfer to Clemson earlier this offseason, but kept his name in the NBA Draft until this week.
He spent the previous 4 seasons at Syracuse, where he developed into one of the top scoring guards in the ACC. Girard averaged more than 16 points per game last season.
He joins a Clemson team that’s hoping to take a big step next season. The Tigers just missed out on reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
Girard is 1 of 4 transfers Clemson has added this offseason. He’s expected to start at point guard for the Tigers in 2023-24, which will be his final year of collegiate eligibility.
