Clemson running back Will Shipley got on the scoreboard in a unique way on Saturday afternoon.

Facing 3rd and goal, Shipley took a direct snap, ran a few steps forward and threw a jump pass touchdown to receiver Davis Allen.

It was a near-perfect throw, allowing Allen to beat a pair of Wake Forest defenders and run underneath the ball. Allen fought off pass interference in order to complete the grab.

Here’s the play:

That score gave Clemson a commanding 17-3 lead over Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons were able to get into the end zone before halftime, making it a 17-10 game at the break.

The stakes are big in this game. If Wake Forest wins, it clinches in the ACC Atlantic title. If Clemson can pull off a victory, it will have a chance at the division crown going into Week 13.

Kobe Pace led Clemson with 78 yards on 10 carries in the first half. Allen led the way on the receiving end, catching 6 passes for 53 yards.

Clemson’s defense held Wake Forest to just 4.4 yards per play in the second half.
