4-star offensive lineman and Clemson target Harris Sewell will announce his commitment on Wednesday night.

He officially set that date — along with a top 5 — on Twitter on Monday afternoon. Sewell is also considering Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama.

Clemson is at a proximity disadvantage in this battle. Sewell is from Odessa, Texas, which is about 140 miles southwest of Lubbock.

However, the Tigers appear to be in a good spot. They received an official visit from Sewell back on June 3. He was part of a group of at least 30 high-profile visitors that weekend. Clemson had already added numerous commitments from prospects who were a part of that group.

Sewell would be a major addition to Clemson’s 2023 class. He’s the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 72 overall player.

Clemson currently has the No. 5 recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Tigers have added 11 commitments already in the month of June and have 14 total. Sewell would become the No. 3-ranked commitment so far in Clemson’s 2023 class.

His announcement on Wednesday is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
