Miami made a late addition to its 2022 recruiting class on Sunday afternoon.

The Hurricanes picked up a commitment from JUCO receiver prospect Colbie Young, who visited Coral Gables over the weekend.

Young played last season at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He’s expecting to enroll at Miami this summer, he told 247Sports.

“The offense is so relatable to Lackawanna, so it’s something I can get down with the playbook and all that,” Young told InsideTheU’s Gaby Urrutia. “The [offensive coordinator] being the receivers coach is honestly a big deal too. Those are a couple of the main reasons. [Mario] Cristobal is a great guy. It felt like family.”

This is a nice recruiting win for Cristobal and offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. He also received offers from Pitt, Tennessee and Florida State in recent weeks.

Listed at 6-foot-4, Young becomes the tallest receiver on Miami’s roster. He could make an immediate impact for the Canes, especially in the red zone.
