Former Virginia Tech and NFL star Michael Vick is stepping into a mentorship role with the NIL firm, Levels Sports Group.

Amongst Level Sports Group’s clients is Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. Part of Vick’s role with the company will be mentoring Uiagalelei and other quarterbacks who are partnering with the firm.

Vick was named head of athlete development on Tuesday afternoon:

“I could not be more excited to partner with Levels and work with the talented athletes on their roster,” Vick said in a press release. “As someone who has had success at the highest level of football, I am looking forward to mentoring guys like DJ, Malachi and Makai, and helping them get to wherever they want their football and professional careers to go.”

This is a big season for Uiagalelei. He’s coming off a disappointing 2021 campaign where he posted a passer efficiency rating of just 108.7. If Vick can help unlock some of his potential on the field this season, it could be a big boost for the Tigers.

Clemson also has 5-star freshman Cade Klubnik in the fold. Klubnik could push Uiagalelei for starting reps if he gets off to a slow start.

Clemson opens the 2022 season against Georgia Tech.
