uking it out in double overtime against Wake Forest, Clemson picked up its second signature victory with a 30-20 win over then-No. 10 NC State.
ESPN’s Pat McAfee isn’t ready to crown the Tigers the kings of the ACC just yet. Next up? A road trip to Boston College, a matchup McAfee thinks is vital to Clemson’s season.
“I think Clemson can really cement their legacy of being the Clemson of recent history,” McAfee said. “Last week, what they showed, was not normal for this particular Clemson squad with DJ [
Uiagalelei]. But DJ looked unbelievable. Today could be a big trend-setting day for Clemson, I believe.”
Uiagalelei has been one of the x-factors this season for Clemson’s success. In back-to-back games, the junior quarterback has thrown for 580 yards and 6 touchdowns against zero interceptions. He also has rushed for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns since Week 4.
No. 22 Syracuse also remains undefeated, but the two will meet on the gridiron on Oct. 22 for what could be a must-see spectacle. Kickoff Saturday from Alumni Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T.
