Report: Clemson cornerbacks accused of racing each other in lead-up to serious 2021 car accident

Fred Davis and Malcolm Greene have been accused of racing each other in the run-up to a serious car accident that took place in 2021, according to a report.

That’s per The Journal’s Riley Morningstar, who cites a new law suit filed in local court. The accident “severely injured” a United States Postal worker.

Davis was arrested for the incident after allegedly hitting a postal vehicle at approximately 115 miles per hour. The alleged incident took place on July 21, 2021.

At the time, coach Dabo Swinney said Davis would face “a lot of consequences” for the decision. He was charged with reckless driving in the incident.

Davis entered the year as a key part of Clemson’s secondary. However, he seemingly lost his spot after a poor performance in Clemson’s overtime win over Wake Forest last month.

Greene has not played in Clemson’s last 2 games due to injury. His status moving forward is unknown.

Here’s a photo from the scene along with more detail about Greene’s involvement in the incident:

Clemson will face Boston College on the road this weekend.
