Report: ESPN ‘actively monitoring’ Hurricane Ian forecast ahead of Clemson GameDay show

ESPN is planning for a “normal GameDay experience” at Clemson this weekend.

That’s despite the looming threat of Hurricane Ian, which is currently forecasted to bring heavy rain into South Carolina by Friday night or Saturday morning. Of course, that forecast could change throughout the week.

An ESPN spokesperson told The State

that the network is monitoring the situation closely.

“Regarding the weather this week, we will be actively monitoring the storm but are planning for a normal GameDay experience,” ESPN spokesperson Julie McKay told The State. “Public safety is always our primary concern so if anything changes, we will be prepared to adjust accordingly.”

The forecast for Hurricane Ian remains fluid, but here is the latest update on what is currently expected in South Carolina from the National Weather service:

Clemson is set to host GameDay for the first time since the 2020 season.

Both the Tigers and Wolfpack enter this game with a 4-0 record. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday evening.
