Clemson receiver Dacari Collins has left the program, according to a report.

That’s per The Clemson Insider, who notes that Collins has just 1 reception so far this season. He played only 12 snaps against Louisiana Tech last week.

Collins likely will not officially enter the transfer portal until after the season. The NCAA recently instituted “transfer windows,” which require players to enter the portal during specific time periods in order to maintain their eligibility.

Collins was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2021. He saw significant playing time as a true freshman as the Tigers were dealing with numerous injuries at receiver. Last season, he caught 16 passes for 221 yards. He also started 3 games.

However, his playing time did not increase this season. True freshmen Antonio Williams and Adam Randall each had a bigger role in Clemson’s win over Louisiana Tech in Week 3. Williams even led the team in receiving with 57 yards and 1 touchdown.

Clemson’s depth is thinning at receiver. However, in addition to Williams and Randall, the Tigers still have Joseph Ngata, Beaux Collins, Brannon Spector and EJ Williams.
