RJ Mickens, Clemson DB, reveals 2024 plans

RJ Mickens has revealed his plans for the 2024 football season.

The Clemson defensive back took to social media to reveal that he will indeed return to the Tigers for the 2024 season. The DB posted a heartfelt message to his fans, teammates, and family.

“After much thought and prayer, I have decided that I will be returning to Clemson for my final year. This university means the world to me, and we’ve got unfinished business.”

Mickens collected 41 tackles and 3 pass defenses in 2023 for the Tigers. The DB has totaled 118 tackles, 5 pass defenses, and 5 interceptions in his Clemson career. The DB will have 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Mickens was originally a 4-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite ranking. H

e starred for Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, TX. The DB was rated as the No. 22 safety prospect and the No. 34 player out of Texas in the 2020 class.

The Tigers will love to see Mickens return after watching several defensive backs enter the transfer portal. Lannden Zanders, Andrew Mukuba, and Toriano Pride have all left the Tigers since the regular season concluded. Keeping an experienced starter like Mickens in the fold will be helpful as the secondary is rebuilt.
