Clemson officially landed 4-star quarterback prospect Christopher Vizzina on Tuesday afternoon. He announced the news at a public ceremony at his high school in Birmingham, Alabama.

But that wasn’t the moment Vizzina originally committed to Clemson. That conversation took place on campus at Clemson earlier this year.

Here’s video of the interaction between Vizzina, his family and Swinney:

“I’ve been all over the country and I keep coming back here,” Vizzina told Swinney. “This is where I want to be … I’m 100% sure about it.”

Swinney responded with plenty of enthusiasm.

“Well you’re the guy we want to be here brother,” Swinney said. “That’s awesome … I’m pumped. Let me tell you something, you’re the guy. And this is about a journey … It’s going to be an amazing journey. And when you walk out of here, you’re going to be unbelievably proud about what you’ve done in football but you’re going to be ready for life.”

Vizzina is the No. 7 quarterback prospect in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He was being recruited by other top programs like Notre Dame, Auburn and Ohio State.

Clemson now has two commitments in the class of 2023.
