Will Shipley suffered an apparent left knee injury late in Clemson’s Gator Bowl victory over Kentucky.

The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter during a kickoff return. Shipley brought the ball into Kentucky territory on the return before eventually being pushed out of bounds. However, Shipley landed awkwardly and stayed on the ground for several minutes before being carted off the field.

Here’s video of the play:

After the game, Shipley was seen wearing crutches while celebrating with teammates:

Shipley could have opted out of this game as he’s eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft. Instead, he decided to play and was a big contributor. His kick return put Clemson in position to kick a crucial field goal late in the Tigers’ 38-35 victory.

Shipley has not yet announced his plans for the 2024 season.

Clemson’s win means the Tigers finish the 2023 season on a five-game winning streak and with a 9-4 overall record. It’s Clemson’s 13th consecutive season with at least 9 victories.
