Will Shipley’s status determined for Clemson’s game against No. 15 Notre Dame
Will Shipley will reportedly not be playing in the Notre Dame game, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
A source told Thamel that the star running back won’t be suiting up for Saturday’s action. Shipley went into concussion protocol after taking a hit during the N.C. State game near the goal line.
The injury was thought to be to the neck at first, but even though it’s not as severe, Shipley will still miss the game.

Shipley has played in eight games with 635 scrimmage yards and 5 touchdowns.
Clemson ranks ninth in the ACC in rushing yards per game (157.6). It could be hard to run the ball with Shipley out against the Notre Dame defense, who is allowing 121.3 yards on the ground per game.
Notre Dame beat Clemson 35-14 in last season’s matchup. The game being played in Memorial Stadium could do the Tigers some favors, but not having one their best players could hurt.
Kickoff will be at noon ET on ABC.
