5-star forward Mackenzie Mgbako has set a commitment date.

He will choose his next school on Friday evening on 9 p.m. ET. Mgbako is a top target for Duke in the class of 2023.

Mgbako is currently ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 1 small forward and the No. 2 player from the state of New Jersey.

He’s listed at 6-foot-8, 200 pounds. He attends Gill St. Bernard’s School in Gladstone, New Jersey. In addition to Duke, Mgbako is also considering Kentucky, Ohio State and Memphis.

Mgbako would be a major addition to Duke’s 2023 cycle. The Blue Devils already have commitments from three prospects in that class: 5-star guard Caleb Foster, 5-star guard Jared McClain and 4-star forward Sean Stewart.

However, Mgbako would be the highest-ranked prospect in Duke’s class. The group currently ranks No. 1 overall nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Duke also has the nation’s top class in 2022.
