Duke beats Boston College, clinches bowl eligibility in Year 1 under Mike Elko

Duke is going to the postseason.

The Blue Devils defeated Boston College 38-31 on Friday night, earning their sixth victory of the season.

It was another great showing f

or Duke quarterback Riley Leonard. He threw for 158 yards and gained another 96 yards on the ground. He scored a touchdown through the air and on the ground.

Running back Jaquez Moore was also exceptional. He rushed the ball 16 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

This is Duke’s first bowl appearance since the 2018 season. The B

lue Devils didn’t reach the requisite six wins in any of David Cutcliffe’s final six seasons in Durham.

The Blue Devils still have opportunities to add to their win total this season. They face Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest in their final three regular season games.

Entering Saturday’s slate, Duke is in second place in the ACC Coastal division with a 3-2 conference record.
