Duke bracketology update: Analyst gives latest seed projection for Blue Devils
Duke has had an up-and-down season so far as Jon Scheyer leads a young team in his 1st season at the helm.
Still, the Blue Devils are well within range to make the NCAA Tournament and could make a deep run in March. College basketball insider Andy Katz updated his bracket projection on Sunday ahead of Duke’s matchup with Virginia Tech on Monday night.
Katz’s projection has Duke as a No. 7 seed. The Blue Devils would face No. 10-seeded Kentucky in the 1st round of the tournament.
Here’s his full projection:

Duke and Kentucky obviously have plenty of history together, including in the NCAA Tournament. The stories programs have met 20 times previously, with each team winning 10 of those games.
The Blue Devils and Wildcats have not met in the NCAA Tournament since March 22, 1998. Kentucky won that game and went on to win the National Championship later that year.
Duke still has several quality opponents left on its schedule, so there’s still time to improve its projected seed line before Selection Sunday. The Blue Devils will be in action again on Monday against Virginia Tech.
Duke and Virginia Tech tipoff at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday.
