Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski gives injury update on Trevor Keels
Duke freshman guard Trevor Keels sustained what appeared to be a potentially serious leg injury on Tuesday night vs. Florida State.
Keels had to be helped off the court, but later appeared on the bench without crutches. After the game, coach Mike Krzyzewski gave an update on Keels’ status.
He told reporters that it was a calf injury rather than a problem with his knee. As of Tuesday night, the extent of the injury was unknown.
Coach K on Trevor Keels: "Trevor, it’s not a knee. It’s a calf injury, but we don’t know the extent of it."

That seems like positive news for the Blue Devils as the injury seemed like it could be much more serious. He was down on the court and in obvious pain for several minutes.
If Keels does miss significant time, it will be a big loss for Duke. In addition to being an exceptional defender, Keels is averaging 11.9 points and 3.2 assists per game.
Keels has started in all 17 of Duke’s games so far this season.
Duke now has two losses in ACC play and is tied with North Carolina for third place in the league standings. The Blue Devils will be in action again on Saturday vs. Syracuse.
