Trevor Keels is expected to miss Duke’s matchup with Trevor Keels on Saturday afternoon.

Keels suffered a lower leg injury on Tuesday in the Blue Devils’ loss to Florida State. Duke announced his status as “doubtful” on Friday afternoon:

Keels has started all 17 games for the Blue Devils so far this season. He’s been effective offensively and defensively, proving to be one of the top freshmen in college basketball this season.

Duke has slipped to 14-3 on the season and 4-2 in ACC play. A loss to the Orange on Saturday would jeopardize its chances of landing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. It would also knock the Blue Devils further behind Miami, who currently has a 1.5 game lead on Duke in the ACC standings.

If Keels does miss significant time, it could mean a bigger role for players like Wendell Moore Jr., Jeremy Roach or Joey Baker. Keels is averaging 31.4 minutes per game this season.

Tipoff vs. Syracuse is at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
