Duke continues to recruit at an elite level.

The Blue Devils earned a commitment from 5-star guard Tyrese Proctor on Thursday. Proctor is Australian and plays at the NBA Global Academy.

Here’s his announcement:

“I’ll go anywhere to chase my dreams at the highest level,” Proctor said in the video. “That’s why I’m taking my game 15,492 kilometers from home to the greatest hoops fam in the game. Man, I can’t wait to get those four letters across my chest. I’ll be joining the brotherhood. Let’s go Duke.”

Proctor is the No. 17 overall player and the No. 4 point guard in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 170 pounds.

Duke is closing in on back-to-back top-ranked recruiting classes in the Jon Scheyer era. The Blue Devils cruised to the top class in 2022, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

In 2023, Duke already has commitments from a trio of 5-star prospects and one 4-star forward. There’s still time left in this cycle for other programs to catch up, but Duke’s class currently ranks No. 1 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Duke also may add another commitment on Friday evening. 5-star Mackenzie Mgbako, a major Duke target, is announcing his decision Friday night.
