Duke moved up to No. 7 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, which was released on Monday afternoon.

The Blue Devils went 2-0 last week with a pair of pretty impressive victories — a win over Wake Forest and a thrashing of a struggling Florida State team.

It was exactly the kind of performance you’d expect to see from a team that’s gearing up for a potential deep run in March.

Duke is now in sole possession of first place in the ACC. It was tied with Notre Dame before the Fighting Irish dropped a game at Wake Forest over the weekend.

The Blue Devils continue to be led by freshman phenom Paolo Banchero, who is now averaging 16.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season. The rest of Duke’s starting five — Trevor Keels, Wendell Moore Jr., AJ Griffin and Mark Williams —are also playing well.

Duke is currently projected to be a No. 2-seed, but there’s still a chance it could move up to the No. 1 line. The Blue Devils would likely need to win out and cruise to the ACC Tournament Championship next month.

Duke has three road matchups left on its schedule before hosting North Carolina on March 5. That will be Mike Krzyzewski’s final regular season game vs. the Tar Heels.

The Blue Devils face Virginia on Wednesday.
