Duke is set to lose some depth on defense as an experienced defensive lineman is reportedly in the transfer portal.

Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported that Duke edge Caleb Oppan is looking for a new program. Oppan, listed at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, also spoke about his decision.

“Excited to have officially entered the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Very grateful for the chance I was given (at Duke) and I’m excited about what the future will bring,” he wrote on social media.

Coming out of high school in Kennesaw, Georgia, Oppan was the No. 67 weakside defensive end, according to 247Sports.

In 2020 and 2021, Oppan appeared in 22 games and he made 17 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks.
