Duke slips 2 spots in latest AP Top 25 poll, but rises in KenPom rankings
Duke fell to No. 9 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll following a 2-1 week.
The Blue Devils lost to Virginia last Monday before rallying to defeat Clemson and Boston College later in the week.
Despite the loss, Duke is tied with Notre Dame atop the ACC standings with an 11-3 record. The Blue Devils hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Notre Dame thanks a 57-43 win in South Bend earlier this year.
Duke is also still in the hunt for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Despite falling in the AP Poll, Duke rose to No. 6 in KenPom after recording back-to-back victories this week.
That’s Duke’s highest KenPom ranking since Jan. 4 when it was also No. 6 after a win over Georgia Tech. That’s tied for its highest ranking of the season.
Duke will play arguably its toughest remaining game on Tuesday vs. Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons are still in the ACC title hunt as well and will be desperate for a win after dropping a game to Miami at home over the weekend.
Tipoff vs. Wake Forest is at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
