Duke cruised to a 30-0 win on Friday night in Durham.

Quarterback Riley Leonard was sensational as he led the Blue Devils to a win in the first game of the Mike Elko era. He completed 24-of-30 passes for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for a game-high 64 yards.

Arguably the play of the game was this pass from Leonard to receiver Jordan Moore. It set up Duke’s first score of the game moments later.

Duke’s defense dominated this game from start to finish. The Owls gained just 179 yards on the night, but 67 of them came in the 4th quarter after the outcome was long decided.

The Owls averaged just 3.1 yards per play. Duke finished the night with 1 sack, 4 tackles for loss, 7 pass breakups and 1 forced fumble.

It was Duke’s first shutout win over an FBS opponent since 1989.

Duke will face Northwestern on the road next week.
