Kyle Filipowski exits Duke-Bucknell game with injury
Kyle Filipowski had to be helped to the locker room late in the first half of Duke’s contest vs. Bucknell on Friday night.
Filipowski appeared to roll his right ankle with a little over 4 minutes remaining in the half. The ACC Network broadcast showed Filipowski being helped to the locker room by a pair of staffers.
Filipowski had 8 points and 5 rebounds prior to exiting the game. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to return to the lineup for the second half.
If Filipowski does miss significant time, it would be a huge loss for the Blue Devils. Filipowski is just starting his sophomore season and is expected to be one of Duke’s top players this season.
Last year, Filipowski averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game. He opted to return to Duke for another season rather than enter the NBA Draft. It’s still early in the 2024 draft cycle, but Filipowski is widely considered to be a potential first-round pick in next summer’s draft if he has a good 2023-24 season.
Duke is looking to move to 3-1 with a win over Bucknell on Saturday.
