Kyle Filipowski insists Tennessee is the most physical team Duke has played all season

Let’s not sugarcoat it: Duke was not prepared for the level of physicality that Tennessee brough to their Round of 32 matchup Saturday afternoon.

The Blude Devils were hounded by the Vols on defense and struggled to keep up with Vols forward Olivier Nkamhoua in the 2nd half. He scored 27 points total, working often against Filipowski. Duke’s zone was barely effective against a Vols team that willed itself to the Sweet 16.

Following the game, Filipowski said that Tennessee team was the most physical team it has played all season, outdoing even Purdue.

Duke had a strong first season under Jon Scheyer when looking on the year as a whole. The Blue Devils won the ACC and totaled 27 wins, losing a to a Tennessee team who’s physicality can take them to the  Final Four.
