Kyle Filipowski suffers latest injury in rough and tumble ACC Tournament
Kyle Filipowski limped off the court with help, as the Duke star couldn’t put weight on his left ankle early in the ACC Tournament quarterfinal on Thursday against Pitt.
It was Filipowski who opened the game with back-to-back 3-pointers for Duke as the Blue Devils got off to an 11-0 start. Filipowski had the ankle re-taped and appeared to be ready to return to action at the under-14 timeout, up by 16-4.
Filipowski’s injury is the latest in a suddenly rough and tumble ACC Tournament that earlier saw Florida State’s Matthew Cleveland, North Carolina’s Armando Bacot and NC State’s Greg Gantt suffer injuries.
Multiple reports suggested that Filipowski tested the ankle in the hallway off the court.
Filipowski averages 15 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. He’s scored in double figures in 3 of the last 5 games.
Not good.
