Manny Diaz gives insight into plans at Duke for roster building, approach to portal
Manny Diaz isn’t at Duke to tear everything down but emphasized that he’s not planning on sustaining the way things were either at Saturday’s introductory presser.
Diaz’s approach to roster building and the transfer portal will be one that is focused on taking the program to new heights it seems.
“We’re not here to tear down what’s been done,” said Diaz. “But we’re also not here to sustain what’s been done.”

The former Penn State assistant is taking over for Mike Elko. Elko took the Blue Devils to consecutive bowl games during his 2-year stint in Durham. Elko has since returned to Texas A&M to accept the head coaching job.
It could be hard for Diaz to build Duke to new heights after Elko left, however the former Penn State assistant sounds ready for what that entails.
