Paolo Banchero, Wendell Moore Jr. set national record with incredible performance vs. Citadel
Duke looked unstoppable in its 107-81 victory over the Citadel on Monday night.
The Blue Devils cruised to a win despite the Citadel setting a new record for the most made 3-pointers by an opponent at Cameron.
As it turns out, Duke set a record of its own that night. Paolo Banchero and Wendell Moore Jr. became the first pair of teammates nationally in at least 25 years to post a line of 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists with 0 turnovers in the same game.
That’s according to ESPN Stats & Info:
Junior Wendell Moore Jr. and freshman Paolo Banchero are the first teammates nationally in at least the 25 years to each have 20-5-5 with 0 turnovers in the same game

Banchero led the way with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the win. Moore tallied 22 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists in the game.
Moore has already recorded one triple double this season and is just the fourth player in the Mike Krzyzewski to do so.
Banchero has been Duke’s best player so far this season on both ends of the court. He’s averaging 17.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest in the early going while shooting 54.9 percent from the floor.
Duke is one of the early favorites for the National Championship this season. However, the Blue Devils will face a big test on Friday vs. Gonzaga. The Bulldogs are fresh off a blowout win vs. No. 2 UCLA on Tuesday night.
Tipoff vs. the Bulldogs is at 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
