Duke will be locking in most of its 2022 recruiting class during the Early Signing Period, according to a report.

That’s per On3’s Joe Tipton, who cites conversations with each of Duke’s four current commitments.

The Blue Devils currently have the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the 2022 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Dereck Lively II, Dariq Whitehead and Kyle Filipowski are all 5-star prospects, per the Composite.

Lively is a candidate to be a top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, alongside Memphis’ Emoni Bates and France’s Victor Wembanyama. Lively is the No. 2 overall player in this class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Both Whitehead and Filipowski are top 10 prospects in this class. Schutt is the No. 56 overall player for the cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Duke is closing in on the ACC’s top class for the second consecutive cycle. North Carolina edged out the Blue Devils in the class of 2020, a group that included 5-stars Caleb Love, Day’Ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler.

It’s possible Duke could still add another commitment to this recruiting class before the Early Signing Period or the regular period in April.

The Early Signing Period begins on Nov. 10.
