Riley Leonard injury: College football insider shares gameday update ahead of Duke-Florida State
Riley Leonard will be a “true game-time decision” Saturday against Florida State, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Saturday morning.
The Duke quarterback will dress for warm-ups and go through pre-game drills and the Blue Devils will make a decision ahead of kickoff.
Leonard injured his ankle in the final minutes of Duke’s narrow loss to Notre Dame on Sept. 30 and has not suited up for the Blue Devils since.
On the year, he has 913 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. He’s also added 326 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground for Duke. He’s already led the Blue Devils to a big win over Clemson, and now Duke is hoping to get him back soon to continue a productive season.
Last week, in Leonard’s absence, Duke managed to get past NC State easily, 24-3. Henry Belin IV, who started in his place, had 103 passing yards and 2 touchdowns on the game.
The matchup between Duke and Florida State kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday night.
