Tyler Santucci was officially announced as Duke’s new defensive coordinator Tuesday evening after reports first came out on Jan 21 that he would be leaving Texas A&M for the Blue Devils’ standalone DC position.

Santucci, the former Co-DC and linebackers coach at Texas A&M, will retain coaching linebackers as well for Duke.

Santucci coached at Stony Brook, Texas State and Notre Dame before accepting the linebackers coach role with the Aggies in 2020. He was elevated to co-DC with DJ Durkin in 2021. He takes over for former Duke DC Robb Smith, who left the program earlier this past week for personal reasons.

The Blue Devils allowed 378.2 yards per game last season, near the middle of the pack in DI.
