Tyrese Proctor, Duke’s point guard who is a potential 2024 NBA Draft lottery pick, has revealed his plans for the 2023-24 season.
that he would return for a sophomore season because, “We have unfinished business.”
“This is the best decision for my career, both present and future,” Proctor told ESPN. “Coach [Jon] Scheyer and I share the same vision; we have unfinished business. We have the best staff in the country, and they will push me each and every day.”
ESPN recalled that Proctor was originally set to graduate high school at the NBA Global Academy in Australia in 2023, but he reclassified and enrolled a year early at Duke after Trevor Keels kept his name in the 2022 NBA draft.

irst season as head coach after he replaced Hall of Famer Mike Krzyzewski. Proctor’s strong late-season run helped Duke win 10 straight games before it fell to Tennessee in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Next season, Proctor will be a leader of a Duke program that will have the nation’s No. 2-rated recruiting class including 5 prospects ranked among the top 31 players in 2023.
