Florida State landed a major commitment in its 2023 recruiting class of Friday afternoon.

5-star receiver Hykeem Williams picked the Noles at a ceremony at his high school, choosing Florida State over programs like Texas A&M, Alabama, Miami and Pittsburgh.

Florida State overcame a big Texas A&M lead — and a final visit to College Station this month — to earn Williams’ commitment.

Williams is now Florida State’s highest-ranked commitment. He’s the No. 22 overall prospect and the No. 4 receiver in the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

At No. 22 overall nationally, Williams would be Florida State’s highest-ranked signee since the class of 2017 when the Noles signed Cam Akers, Marvin Wilson and Joshua Kaindoh.

Williams is Florida State’s second commitment this week. The Noles also picked up 4-star linebacker Blake Nichelson within the last few days.

The success on the recruiting trail has translated into the national rankings. Florida State now ranks No. 15 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Noles began the week outside the top 20.
