After a much-needed off week in Week 8, Florida State is in position to finish the year on a strong note.

The Noles (4-3) are likely to be favored in four of their five remaining games and should have no issues reaching bowl eligibility.

According to CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm, Florida State is currently on track to play against Utah in the Holiday bowl.

The Utes are a great team but have struggled at times this season. They lost to Florida back in Week 1 and to UCLA back on Oct. 8. However, they also have a win over USC on their résumé.

This would be an interesting matchup for both programs as Florida State and Utah have never met in football.

Florida State has never played in the Holiday Bowl before as it has only recently had an ACC tie-in. Previously, the Holiday Bowl was played between Pac-12 and Big Ten opponents.

FSU is looking for its first bowl appearance since the 2019 season. It’s also trying to get to 8+ wins in a single campaign for the first time since 2016.

Florida State hosts Georgia Tech on Saturday.
