Deuce Spann made a big play when Florida State desperately needed one on Saturday night.

Florida State found itself trailing 17-7 after a Jordan Travis pick-6 early in the second quarter. Duke had all the momentum and a double-digit lead as it sent the kickoff downfield.

And then Spann ran it straight up the gut of Duke’s special teams coverage and cruised into the end zone for a touchdown.

Here’s a replay:

Spann is in his second season with the Seminoles after transferring from Illinois. Originally a quarterback with the Illini, Spann has become a solid reserve receiver for Florida State.

But this was his first career touchdown of any kind with FSU. He had just one kickoff return attempt in his entire collegiate career entering tonight’s game.

Florida State is looking to move to 7-0 on the season and 20-0 all-time against Duke with a win.
