DJ Uiagalelei visited Florida State this weekend as he contemplates where he will play in 2024.

The former Clemson and Oregon State quarterback is one of the most sought-after passers in the transfer portal. Uiagalelei briefly spoke to reporters in Tallahassee about what his impressions of FSU were following the visit.

Uiagalelei was very complimentary of the Noles.

“I think the legacy here at Florida State speaks for itself,” he said. “It’s one of the best legacies we have here in college football. So for me, it’s been an honor to just be able to be here, be able to talk to the coaches … to talk to some of the players. So for me, man, it’s been a great honor to come here to Florida State.

“All the questions I had, they answered them how I wanted them. It’s a great program here. I think coach Norvell has done a great job.”

Uiagalelei is coming off of his best collegiate season with Oregon State in 2023. He threw for 2,638 yards and 21 touchdowns last season for the Beavers. His passer efficiency rating of 145 is the best mark of his career so far.

Florida State is looking for a starting quarterback to replace Jordan Travis in 2024. The Noles are also reportedly pursuing Washington State quarterback Cam Ward.

Uiagalelei has one season of eligibility remaining.
