EJ Manuel made the pitch for Jordan Travis to stay at Florida State for 1 more season.

Travis had a sensational season in 2022 and has 1 more year of eligibility left. Manuel believes that Travis would benefit from spending another season in Tallahassee.

He floated the idea that Travis could improve his draft stock or even potentially win the Heisman Trophy:

“I think one more year would do Jordan Travis really good,” Manuel said. “Another concise year, more starts under your belt. More leadership in the passing game, which he did an excellent job of this year. If he does go into the draft, he’ll get drafted.

“But I think if he comes back and puts together another solid body of work, he’ll get drafted as high as the first round, potentially the second round. I think he’s also that good. He could also win the Heisman next year. So if you’ve got another year of eligibility, why not come back?”

In 2022, Travis passed for 2,796 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. Florida State ended the season on a 5-game winning streak and Travis was important in the team having a successful end to the season.

Travis will have time to make a decision on his future. Florida State will face Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29.
