ESPN updates bowl projections for Florida State following Week 13

ESPN updated its weekly bowl projections for Florida State after the Seminoles survived a close game against Florida in Week 13.

ESPN college football writers Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach revised their weekly bowl projections for Florida State. Bonagura is projecting a Holiday Bowl appearance a

gainst Oregon for Florida State. For Schlabach, his projection has Florida State vs. Texas Tech in the Cheez-It Bowl.

This would be Florida State’s first time playing in either bowl game. Florida State has played Texas Tech 5 other times. The Seminoles faced Oregon in the 2015 College Football Playoff.

Florida State narrowly escaped Week 13 with a 45-38 win over Florida. The win gave Florida State a 9-3 record at the end of the regular season. Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis passed for 270 yards and 1 touchdown. He r

ushed for 83 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Running back Trey Benson carried the load in the backfield with 3 rushing touchdowns and 111 rushing yards.

The Seminoles were able to avoid a late comeback from Florida. Florida State snapped a 3-game losing streak to Florida with the Week 13 win.

While Florida State will likely miss out on a New Year’s Six bowl, the Seminoles will be set up nicely for a notable bowl game against a competitive opponent. Florida State will find out its bowl game future on Sunday, Dec. 4.
