Florida State is 2-0 on the season and is looking to get back to its first bowl game since 2019.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Noles have a great shot at doing just that.

Florida State’s likelihood of reaching bowl eligibility shot up to north of 90% after its upset win over LSU in Week 2. Per FPI, the Seminoles now have a 93.3% chance of getting to a bowl game. FSU also has a 3.7% chance of winning the Atlantic, per FPI.

FSU is 2-0 for the first time since 2016. That’s also the last time Florida State won 8 or more games during a single season.

There’s optimism at Florida State on both sides of the ball moving forward. Quarterback Jordan Travis was sensational last week, throwing for 2 touchdowns against the Tigers. The defensive side of the ball also showed significant improvement and Albany transfer Jared Verse is playing like one of the top pass rushers in the country.

FSU likely won’t be an underdog again until it faces NC State on Oct. 8. The Noles host a ranked Wake Forest team on Oct. 1 that could determine whether or not they contend for the Atlantic title in 2022.

Florida State will face Louisville in Week 3. The Cardinals are coming off an upset road win over UCF on Friday night.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 16.
